Most diets advertised as available
today rely on a teenager's natural desire
to lose weight and look slim, and they
also play on the desire for quick results
- for example a diet of fruit juices only
for a week. This is foolish, extreme
dieitng and yes, you will lose weigh but
the bad news is that you will put it back
on almost immediately after stopping the
diet. This is why you must never try a
restrictive diet - it is noth pointless as
well as dangerous to your health.
If you feel that you do have to lose
weight, then let your parents know about
it, and let them help you plan an
effective diet plan. If, however, you have
a lot of weight to lose, consult a
qualified physician before you make a
start.
Always remember that the most important
meal of your day is breakfast, and never
ever try to skip it. This is because you
are actually 'breaking the fast' that you
have been in the entire night, and the
moment you put a morsel of food into your
mouth, your metabolism kicks in, and
starts to burn calories.
 
The least important meal of the day is
usually considered to be dinner in the
evening, and you as a teenager wishing to
maintain or lose your weight must make
sure that you keep dinner light and
healthy, and early too. This is because it
can be very difficult to burn off late
evening calories, and if you must snack,
then try to eat a piece of fruit or a
spoonful of peanut butter to keep hunger
at bay.
Recent research has revealed that milk
makes a body good, because milk is an
amazing substance that makes a body fit
and healthy, and at the same time makes
one fight weight gain. Teenagers who have
had plenty of milk during their early
childhood years tend to be able to keep
off excess calories during their adulthood
too. Those teenagers who tend to take up
unhealthy diets may well end up fighting
unwanted weight when they are adults,
therefore, the best method for a teenager
to maintain his or her weight is to eat
healthy foods and to exercise regularly
and the rest will take care of itself!
