Low Blood Sugar Dieting
Low blood sugar or glucose is a
condition in which the level of sugar or
glucose in an individual's blood drops to
below a certain acceptable point, that is,
about 2.5mmol/l.
The main cause for this condition, also
known as 'hypoglycemia' is that there is
too much insulin in the blood.

As you may be aware, insulin is
normally produced within the pancreas, and
the function of insulin is to help the
cells in one's body absorb the glucose
from the blood, especially immediately
after eating a meal.
This is the reason why blood sugar
levels may typically rise after a
meal.
Episodes of hypoglycemia, although they
may occur more frequently in diabetic
patients, may also occur, although
infrequently, in non-diabetic individuals.
It may be caused by a tumor, or by an over
dosage of diabetic pills, or by Addison's
disease, or by cancer, or even by fasting
and malnutrition.
Low blood sugar can manifest itself
through the following symptoms:
- paleness
- trembling
- perspiration
- hunger
- agitation
- fatigue
- blurred vision
- a loss of consciousness
- and at times, convulsions
