Remember, experts recommend several
ideas for people like you to break out of
the dieting plateau.
- You can start to eat slowly, and
chew many more times than you probably
would normally.
- Stop as soon as you feel satisfied,
and never let yourself go very hungry,
because then you will find it difficult
to control the amount of food that you
eat.
- You can forget about the 'low-fat
food' craze for some time, because, as
a matter of fact, foods with fat
content seem to be better able to kill
appetite than the other ones.
- Try to exercise more. You can try
out exercises that you feel you enjoy
better such as longer walks,
mini-trampoline, skipping and so on.
The idea is to have fun as you
exercise, and you can do whatever fits
the bill.
- You could try out thermogenic
agents, or adrenal stressors, and they
are available at all health food
stores. These thermogenic agents do
tend to be stimulating because they
contain both caffeine and ephedrine,
but you must be careful to limit your
dosage.
- Eat whole grain breads and do not
sweeten them in any way. Similarly,
beware of sweetened fruit juices, and
eat a whole fruit instead.
One expert maintains that it would be
an interesting option for dieters who have
reached a dieting plateau to have a
once-a-week vegetable juice day, during
which you will lose weight as well as
cleanse your body of harmful
pollutants.

The important thing that you as a
dieter must keep in mind is that all
dieters will almost inevitably reach the
infamous dieting plateau. The reason for
this phenomenon is that because with any
diet that puts your body on a restricted
calorie intake per day your body will
gradually become accustomed to a very low
energy intake, and a reduced metabolic
rate and hence does not need as much fat
to maintain that level, so at this time
you need to alter your daily routines,
your daily food patterns, to shake it out
of its lethargy. Increase your exercise a
little so your body will need more enrgy
and will use more of the stored
fats.
After a while, therefore, the weight
starts to come off again as you move awayf
form hte dieting plateau. The secret is to
continue to exercise regularly and follow
the above tips and guidelines, and you can
still keep the weight off, and remain a
happy dieter.
